Books! There are all sorts of books about Saddlebreds. Take a look here to see some of them. But the horse books that I find myself studying the most are the ones by Phillip Sponenberg on horse color genetics. Interested in knowing what you're likely to get when you cross a black horse and a palomino? Or are you wondering how the heck you got a black foal out of a bay mare and a chestnut stud? Or why you got a bay out of a black stud and a chestnut mare? You need Sponenberg's book Equine Color Genetics in your reference library!
Here is where I'll be showing you some nifty Saddlebred related items that I've either found or created myself. I have to support my horse habit somehow, so remember the Saddlebred lover in your life when birthdays or holidays roll around. Or remember your trainer when you're hanging up that blue ribbon. Or your farrier. Or the spouse who lets you spend half the day at the barn and doesn't whine too much about it. Or the parents who are footing the bills.
